Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex... It takes a touch of genius and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction.

Identity in the Intuit Cloud

Alex Balazs

A key aspect of Intuit’s evolution as an Internet company involved moving data from being application centric to being user centric. Users now have control over their data and enjoy better cross product behavior because their data moves with them. Moving the data to the cloud also makes data available to selected 3rd parties who now participate in the Intuit Ecosystem of people and products through Federated trust and data exchange. The Intuit Ecosystem is now a combination of Intuit and 3rd Party developed products that interoperate in the Cloud via centrally managed Identity.
